Philco Ford 3900 MOS solid state calculator, circa 1965. Designed by General Microelectronics (GMe) of Santa Clara (purchased by Philco Ford) on contract to Victor Comprometer. DONATED TO COMPUTER HISTORY MUSEUM www.computerhistory.org/collections/catal

It may not be the latest in Solid State computing, but a 38 lb four function calculator circa 1965 makes one realize how fast technology advanced - once we got going. This one was used for a door stop for a period of time in the 1980s, and cost $1850 new.
