Inspired by Christopher Nolan's Inception and Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back. When I was a kid in the 1980s I was inspired by the special effects done by Industrial Light and Magic and would watch the specials on TV about how they were done. This is one reason I like to make effects videos today.
