Golden-crowned Kinglet

An energetic little Winter bird in Oklahoma. We have these and Ruby-crowned Kinglets in good numbers this fall. The similar species don't get along well. When we find them in proximity to each other a lot of fussing and chasing ensues.

The Goldens are characterized by their golden crown. The females have a solid yellow and the males have yellow bordered with black and orange. Another species known to cause fits of cursing with photographers. Our beautiful world, pass it on.
