If a tree falls in the forest and someone IS around to hear it, it sounds like unstoppable death rolling through the forest directly in your direction.
This tree fell at about 10PM. It sounded like the rocky slope across the road from my campsite had given way and was taking the forest with it. I expected to hear the crush of rocks against by car before the landslide took my tent. When morning came, I was surprised to find that all that racket was caused by a single tree falling over.
