Panzer III Ausf.F
Well it's been a long time in the works about a year >>, but it's finally done!
All in all rather pleased with how it came out in the end, with all the little details I was able to pack into it. Still a lot of credit to everybody that has done a Panzer III or Stug in the past on Flickr as I have been browsing around for inspiration there at times for my own Panzer III.
Still most credit should go to mas_effect as I pretty much just fully copied his turret in the end and reworked it a little to make it all possible in tan. As I personally kept failing at a good design myself, I started to lose hope at it and it pretty much did the ideas I had in mind right.
I do think the turret is the biggest challenge on the Panzer III, with a lot of small angles next to that the turret size which is constricted to the hull size which makes it quite narrow. Hopefully in the future I can make it more my own or at least rework the internals more, so I can get it to fully rotate with ease. Which it can't quite do now yet, but it looks good and is sturdy so I take the hit on functionality~!
For the rest I love the fact I was able to add all the different angles in the hull, like at the rear of the tank and the viewport of the driver may just be my favorite little detail of all! For the rest it’s built to the usual scale of 1/35, the canon can elevate, the commander hatches can be opened and the tracks roll smooth.
