New article up on Pixiq, this one telling the detailed story behind one of my better known photos .
My previous three articles can be found here If you enjoy reading, feel free to spread them around, I'd very much appreciate it :)
This photo, on the other hand, was taken last Saturday. Now, I've climbed over or under fences to photograph horses many, many times in the past, without any mishaps. Shortly after taking this, however, I managed for the first time to electrocute myself when going back over the fence, not realizing the non-barbed wire running right along the inside of the barbed wire had a current pulsing through it. This I firmly grabbed in my right hand while figuring out where to place my foot to propel myself over, all too conscious of my friend on the other side preparing to get a picture of me exactly when jumping over, and not wanting to look stupid. Instead of hopping gracefully over, I'm sure I looked very stupid indeed when the current, meant to keep horses in check, shocked my considerably less-than-horse-sized frame, causing me to jump back into the field and let loose a stream of profanities. My friend was too startled to get this on film, regrettably (he was actually shooting film, as the link above shows, otherwise I'm sure there would be a series of photos recounting the moment)
While the scenario was rather hilarious, I do not recommend this to anyone ;)
