Congrats Logan!
Logan~
Well here we are. Your journey through scouting has been longer than most.
You were camping with the pack at age 2 (remember you Tyler and the Tonka trucks?) and standing in a den line with signs up along with Tyler and Bradford at age three when Den Zero was born. Jonathan joined you the next year and Den Zero was the name you retained as you went through cubscouts, got the arrow of light and all crossed over to our brand new troop in 2005 and the Stingrays Patrol was born.
You knew the scout Oath, law and motto before you needed to and I can stand here today and honestly say you live by these tenants each day.
You always give 110% in everything you do and attempt to do. It shows in the your school work, (I would have killed for a 4.6 GPA) ,in Soccer and other sports, Scouts, your friends, your family, learning new tasks, and of course, fishing.
You just tackle a task and make it happen. Dad and I admire you for your tenacity. You have a level of “stick to it~ ness” that is impressive. I think that is what makes you such a good fisherman.
When you went to Your School Soccer coach in Middle school and asked for time to finish out your Scrabble team obligations, you took heat from your adult coach for even being on the School Scrabble team, you stayed with scrabble. We were so proud of you. You ended up representing Walter C Young at the JR National Scrabble championships in Rhode Island. Dad and I loved being Team Chaperones and watching you compete on a National Level. Why do I mention this? Because you have learned that rewards come to those who stick to their convictions.
You are an excellent example to your younger cousins and young and older people around you. You can play a good game of most sports including football with the best of them, even taking your hits from Ryan and Zak. Yet your drawings and artwork show you are well rounded and talented. Your smile lights up a room, You make us laugh, you make us proud.
You have always lived up to the nickname “little man” and are a wonderful, special young man now, with so much to look forward to and accomplish.
Baden Powell once said "I often think that when the sun goes down the world is hidden by a big blanket from the light of heaven, but the stars are little holes pierced in that blanket by those who have done good deeds in this world. The stars not all the same size, some are big, some are little and some men have done small deeds but they have made their hole in the blanket by doing good before they went to heaven. Try to make your hole in the blanket by good work while you are on earth. It is something to be good, but it is far better to do good."
Your Dad and I both know The holes you make will be big ones.
This is what I said to Logan at his Eagle court of Honor.
Congrats Logan!
