Its short yellow grass looks stark, compared to the high green during the long hot summer. Some of that yellow might have arrived during the six weeks without rain not long ago. This section of the trail was closed for over three months to build up a wide multilayered path better for walking, biking, and horseback riding, especially after heavy rains when the other dirt trails get muddy.
