Open Windows in a Hurricane

Flow through model house with windows open. This model was created by (and photographed at) NASA Ames Fluid Mechanics Laboratory. It was created for the episode of Myhtbusters investigating the effects of open vs. closed windows on a house during a hurricane, though I do not believe it was ever used on-screen.

And for anyone coming here looking for advice: the results of several experiments showed that opening windows has a negligible effect on whether a house will stay intact, but opening them greatly increases the chances (and subsequently the costs incurred from) water damage. The best advice is to shutter/board up your windows.
