Penn Central BA-2 Natick, MA
PC SD-45 6203, a U25-C an SD-35 and another SD-45 lead BA-2 approaching the Marion St. overpass in Natick on this July 4th 1975. Penn Central ran two jobs from Selkirk to Boston. BA-2 was a daylight job and BA-4 was a nighttime job. These trains handled a lot of automobile traffic for the GM factory in Framingham, which was located south of town on the 'Holliston Secondary'. The other large amount of traffic was reefers full of fresh produce and the like for the population of Boston and restaurants and hotels. Of course in the early 1980's the GM plant closed and all the fresh produce is now all trucked in. Beacon Park yard is closed and now CSX only runs a local to Boston... Times have sure changed!
