Baba Bhatkanti
The Maratha Emperor
When the rocks & stones of Sahyadri are dropped in water, the ripples they create speak of its vast & rich history.
These ranges are made up of stones darker than the night, the tip of its peaks reach out to the skies and the routes that pass through it are as wavy as trails of a snake. The beautiful monuments that adorn these ranges are carved out of the hardest of the rocks yet resemble the beauty of a delicate maiden and lastly the mighty forts that are set upon these ranges stand as a symbol of strength & triumph like the beefy muscles of a wrestler. These very attributes are the testament of the prowess of Maharashtra as a whole.
The King of the Maratha Empire, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, once reigned over his vast kingdom from the great Raigad Fort that is set at the peak of the ranges. This fort was the citadel of his realm.
It is because of this legendary past, there hasn't been and nor they ever shall be a man who will now bow down to the grandeur and the legacy of these great ranges.
