The Look of the Hunt – Masai Mara

A lioness, her face blood-stained from a zebra kill, locks eyes with the camera. Shot in Kenya’s Masai Mara on Kodachrome 64 transparency film in 1982, later scanned. Back then, off-road driving was allowed, and I was able to approach in my own safari vehicle— a very different experience from today’s tightly regulated safaris.
