Chicagohenge - Spring Equinox
I was planning and also waiting for this day to catch the setting sun right in between the buildings. Chicago's streets are aligned east-west (with a little variation) to give this opportunity to the photographers and anybody who loves the city this view twice a year. I tried last Fall but the sky was cloudy during sunset so when I saw forecast calls for 0% clouds around sunset, I knew there is an opportunity. I wanted to catch the sun and less flares but at the same time all the golden hues, so I had to use multiple exposures to retain highlights and shadows. In total this is a 5 shot luminosity blend. Yes a Nikon D810 would have been nice....:). I tried different compositions but in the end the square format looked the best to me.
