Kilpisjärvi

Kilpisjärvi WWI monument to act of sabotage against Arctic supply line to Czarist Russian forces. During that war Russia transported supplies by horse and reindeer from Arctic ports via Kilpisjärvi to the Eastern Front. In June, 1916 a groupd of Finnish soldiers trained by Germany blew up a Russian weapons depot here.
