They're back!!!! I love it when she looks at me straight on adorned in water droplets like sparkling jewels, It doesn't happen often. This is straight from the camera, I don't dare mess with perfection. My first meeting with my common loons this year and they didn't disappoint, I have so many pics it was hard to choose. Instead of me paddling like crazy to their side of the lake they come to me now for a meet and greet of about ten minutes in the early morning (6am) not long after I get off the dock just before swimming away to do what loons do best. Taken from my Yak!
I get to see my Mom tomorrow for the first time in a month or so, she is coming to spend the weekend with me. After that I'm getting ready to go camping with my horses. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
For anyone who spends time during summer in Canada's northern lake country, the haunting, evocative call of the common loon is as much a part of the experience as fresh air and the sound of a crackling fire...Please enjoy!
