Varmaala

The Varmaala or the Jaimaala is the decorated flower garland symbolic of a Hindu Wedding.

According to ancient Hindu Philosophy, the life of a man or woman is considered to be fulfilled and eligible for 'Moksha' only on getting married.

Different religions & traditions mean that it is not a common sight to see the Bride smiling at the time of the varmaala. In certain parts of India, the families are so conservative in their belief, that they will not even allow the bride & groom to look at each other before they are officially married!
