Ready for olive harvest
Cinque Terre is the name given to a strip of coastline on the Italian Riviera between Punta Mesco and Punta di Montenero, northwest of La Spezia in the Liguria region, which is about twelve kilometers long and has a favorable climate. From northwest to southeast, the five villages of Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore line up along the steeply sloping coast.
The hiking trail from Manarola via Corniglia and Vernazza to Monterosso is very scenic. Here you walk on narrow paths through the maquis and through vineyards and olive groves.
