Soap save! Island Fresh

My best ever rebatch & soap save! I made this Sunday, came home from work the next morning to find a soapmaker's nightmare. What the heck is wrong with my soap??? I had left out one of the oils!! ARGH!!! Couldn't figure out why my oven & soap were still so warm, as the oven had been off for over 12 hours. Well, I had turned on the over light and forgotten to turn it off. I think that probably saved my soap, as it was still pretty soft and hot. I shredded it, added the omitted oil, melted and beat it with a mixer. Glopped it into molds and put back in the oven. This came out better than any of my rebatches ever have, and no lye zap to the tongue when it was done.

I use SoapCalc to formulate, but always print out my recipe on MMS or other lye calculator with less info on the page. I use their water & lye suggestions. However, this recipe uses some Crisco, which MMS doesn't list. The page with a calculator that I use that does list shortening is no longer online. So, I used the printout from SoapCalc. Sure enough... too much info printed out for my pea brain, I guess, and I missed one of the oils.Thought it seemed like there should have been more liquid oils when I made it, glanced at the recipe, and still didn't notice my first oil on the list. Won't make that mistake again!

This started out as an experiment, a white base with blue columns. So much for that. I'm just happy to have usable soap.
