The so-called "Lamp of Galileo"
In 1583 the young Galileo Galilei (nineteen y.o.) watched the motion of the lamp that oscillated and begun to think about the law of the constant of period in the pendulum.
The present lamp is of some year later, in 1587. And it's very big and heavy to easily oscillate.
The one that Galileo watched was smaller, and simpler. And also lighter. It still exist today and it is inside the Aulla chapel in the near monumental cemetery.
