The Great Solar Eclipse of 2024, Colebrook, NH, April 08, 2024
During a solar eclipse the Moon intercepts the line of sight path between the Earth and our Sun. During a total solar eclipse, the obstruction becomes total for a brief duration, but the Sun emerges as a victor again shining in its full glory.
I captured this sequence of shots showing various phases of the April 08, 2024 eclipse over a period of 2 hours in Colebrook, NH. The pictures were captured individually but are arranged here against a dark background (as you would see through a filter) to pictorially depict the gradual fall and eventual rise of our great Sun. Luckily for me, the sky was perfectly clear. Solar flares are visible in the diamond ring and the total eclipse shots. Rays are seen emanating from the diamond ring.
A truly out of the world experience for me on a special day! To my Avanthi on her birthday!
Nikon D6, Nikkor 500mm f/4e lens, x1.7, MrStarGuy neutral density solar filter. Various aperture and shutter speed settings and Dx image area.
Thanks to all of you who fave and/or comment on the photograph!
