Red Junglefowl (Gallus gallus), Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, Assam, India, 2024

Resident Himalayas, NE and E. India. Male has rufous-orange hackles, blackish brown underparts, rufous wing panel, white tail base, and long greenish-black or deep purple, sickle-shaped tail. Male's loud cock-a-doodle-doo is very similar to crowing domestic cockerel. Habitat in forest undergrowth and shrub.

Such a multi-colored bird! Amazing Nature! Luckily for me, this bird crossed the track of our safari jeep in the front and I could steal this shot.

Compare with Domestic fowl.
