My parents bought it in (possibly) 1954, it got stuck by overwinding in the mid 70s and I found 20 minutes yesterday (04.06.11) to take it somewhat apart, clean, relubricate then re-assemble it and it rewarded me by starting and keeping going!
It's my first ever success with mending a clock - not that I've tried too often.
