Chance

This handsome boy came up our driveway last Friday about a half hour past dusk. We have named him Chance because it was totally by chance that I saw him in the dark. We have never seen him around so of course I went to investigate. He immediately wrapped himself around my feet and legs. We pulled 10 engorged ticks off of him and bathed him and of course fed him well. I took him to our vet to see if he was micro chipped and he was. Long story short he is super friendly and was lost and is not feral. It turns out he was recently adopted out of a rescue and his micro chip was never registered by his new family. I checked all local rescue and lost and found websites and he is not listed as missing. The micro chip takes us to the original rescue organization and they were supposed to be notified if he ever went missing. So five days or more after he is lost his adopted family have not made any attempt to report him missing or post him missing on local lost and found sites. Pisses me off beyond words. He will stay here with us until this gets solved. I truly hope they don't let him go back to the family that adopted him. If you can't even report him missing and then actually go out and look for him then you don't deserve this beautiful boy.
