Chevron's Toxic Legacy in Ecuador's Amazon
Carmen Melanie Chamba, 54, has lived near an open oil pit left in the Ecuadorean Amazon rainforest by Texaco (now Chevron) for 39 years. She has suffered five abortions and numerous other health problems as a result of living in such close proximity to the toxic waste.
