A lowly grass-eater?
Giraffes are normally tree-top browsers but in the Masai Mara they sometimes move out into the plains where they appear to be grazing.
In fact such "grazing" Giraffe are actually browsing tree seedlings. The Mara grasslands have a fairly high rainfall for much of the year and without the influence of browsers like giraffe (and Black Rhino) the Mara grasslands would slowly convert to woodland.
Image taken in Kenya's Masai Mara in the long grass plains to the east of the Oloololo escarpment (the out of focus hillside in the background which is wooded on the upper slopes as it is inaccessible to the larger browsers).
