The BNSF coach yard and shops supports the Metra commuter service on the BNSF and Southwest routes. This facility was once known as the Zephyr Pit because it serviced The Burlington Route's Zephyr long distance trains such as the "California Zephyr" and the "Nebraska Zephyr".
