G534 Departing Yennora
G534 departs Yennora with a late running 1251 container freight from Yennora to Glenlee. Normally this train wanders through the metropolitan area before the peak hour begins, although it would appear that in this case, 1251 missed out on the freight curfew, and was held back to follow T280 (because nothing is allowed to make T280 late).
1251 conveys loading from Sydney, bound for Brisbane. It is shunted onto the Melbourne-Brisbane train at Glenlee, with the loading from Melbourne shunted off and returned to Yennora as 2152. Due to the late running of 2152, 5MB7 departed late, and 2152 departed quite late, only arriving into Yennora ahead of T281 (and nothing is allowed to make T281 late).
This meant that the return journey, 1253 did not make it out of Yennora before peak curfew descended (it might have left before T281 arrived, but that might make T281 late, which we can't have). This train conveys loading for Melbourne, to be shunted onto the Brisbane-Melbourne train at Glenlee, and return to Yennora in the evening with 2154, with the loading from Brisbane.
Why the interest in this train? It normally runs with a variety of vintage motive power, including members of the 421, 422, X, 423, CLF and CLP classes. The G Class are normally left for mainline running. Typical luck!
