Athabasca Glacier
The Athabasca Glacier is one of the six main outlet glaciers of the Columbia Icefield, located in the Canadian Rockies (Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada). The glacier terminus, seen here, is accessible by a short hike from the Icefields Parkway.
Due to global warming, the glacier has been shrinking and receding substantially in the past decades. Previous positions of the terminus are marked along the trail.
