The Thing That Came From Halloween ....

After Halloween, a creature appeared

 

With eyes that gleamed and a form to be feared

 

Yet it didn't harm, or make anyone flee

 

It just gathered up lost candy, so quietly

 

With tentacles sweeping, it cleaned the street

 

From candy lost under porches and feet

 

Then it vanished, like a dream in the night

 

Leaving streets clean & tidy and candy out of sight

 

Then, in a flash, it vanished from view

 

Leaving only the question, "Did it really come through?"
