Lunar Module and Harmonic Energizer clones.

Lunar Module and Harmonic Energizer clones. These work together in some odd ways. The Energizer can change what frequencies clip first. I always call that the, "Choke Point" of a pedal. It's how a pedal (or amp) is voiced. The place where the clipping wants to happen.

It's how Marshalls went from, "Farty" with the JTM-45, which was voiced like the Fender Bassman bass amp that it copied, to, "Cutting" when they switched the cathode bypass capacitor to a .68 uF with the Plexi lineup and shaved off almost all the low end in the process. But it forced the amp to clip in a different way because the amplitude of the higher frequencies was hitting the clipping threshold before the lower frequencies.

Anyway, this thing can make the clipping threshold happen at whatever frequency you like...although in a spiky kind of strange way.
