"Mmmm...BIG!"
"There was NO way I was gonna walk around this place with my DORK hanging out!"
So this showed up today. It must have been a display model. It doesn't show any wear, but it's dusty. No biggie. The hundred-dollar-off Clearance price can include some dust and I'm fine with that. Very nice. It has an, "SDD-3000" mode where the bandwidth is reduced to that of the classic rack unit and then a, "Modern" full-bandwidth mode. As well as several other modes like, "Reverse Delay" and, "Pitch" that allows you to put a pitch shifter between the signal and the delay.
It's got some interesting song presets including a, "Run Like Hell" that's all set up to mimic the Gilmour delay sound and a, "2112" that does a really amusing mimicry of the multiple repeats thing from 2112.
Probably the coolest thing about it is the bandwidth of the preamp. It's not hard at all to set it up so the guitar is providing plenty of signal, but never clipping. Which seems to be tough for a lot of modern delays. I think they assume that half the customers won't use the pedal and the other half won't notice the clipping. Of course, the preamp on the original Korg delays was a huge part of why they were so popular.
I didn't really want to buy this right now, but Korg went and discontinued it, so I felt like I had to.
