Teal Flybridge

The flybridge is a wonderful location - enjoyable when the conditions allow, and much better than the lower helm position when manoeuvring in tight spaces because you can see both ends of the boat. I also find it easier to judge cross tides when up there. However, we discovered that the pvc covered seat cushions are not waterproof (water gets in through the stitching). They had always been stowed below when the boat was not in use, but when we are on board, they live 'upstairs'. Not good if it rains! So we are having a pedestal style cover made to go over the upper helmsman's bench. The side cushion easily stows there too. With any luck this will eliminate the need to bring these cushions below even when we leave the boat as they will be protected from both rain and UV, except when the flybridge is in use.
