Style Sailor
Saltsjöbaden, Sweden. This is one of the boats built by a teenaged Swede as part of an organization in Stockholm that fosters teenagers in building sailboats. They spend from 1000 to 2000 hours building their boats.
The leader of the organization has an old Swedish Navy boat that he's turned into a giant workshop. The students come in on weekends and holidays to work on their boats.
This boat is just about ready for it's maiden voyage. The mast and other accessories will be added.
All the students are readying their boat for a three week voyage in the Stockholm archipelago. Fanastic!
A group of adults will be accompanying them in motor boats filled with supplies.
BTW, the students build everything. They even make any metal parts needed. They cut and stitch the sail. They do not make the ropes. The plans are provided by the coach so they don't design it either. However, they may finish it anyway they please so you'll see classic wood grain to artistic paint jobs.
