Neglected
This is a photo for this week's photo assignment, themed Old.
We took a trip out in the cold this morning to Tyneham which is a ghost village in Dorset. It has the remains of lots of buildings and had a number of old fashioned relics from the 1930-40s. It's a really fascinating place to visit with an equally fascinating history relating to World War 2.
This shot is of an old and unloved piano that is in the main hall/school hall. Despite being a ghost town there is still a light on and the doors are wide open. There are still books on shelves and pieces of classwork on the desks, it's really quite eerie. The piano is mostly still working (much to my surprise) but it is in a state of disrepair and could almost certainly benefit from a tune up.
WIT
I took a number of shots of the piano to see that worked best. I wanted to frame the shot to get close to the keys and draw attention to the manufacturer name badge. Converted to black and white and bumped up the gamma a little for a high contrast look. :)
