Emergency calls free
This is a photo for this week's photo assignment, themed Old.
We took a trip out in the cold this morning to Tyneham which is a ghost village in Dorset. It has the remains of lots of buildings and had a number of old fashioned relics from the 1930-40s. It's a really fascinating place to visit with an equally fascinating history relating to World War 2.
This shot is of an incredibly old fashioned red phone box that sits outside what would have been the old post office. The door is locked but inside you can see the old style black telephone. Unfortunately I was unable to photograph the telephone close up so I had to make do with it a shot through the glass.
WIT
A shot taken while stood outside the phone box, I tried to arrange the composition so that the focus would be on the text in the foreground but with the telephone clearly visible (but slightly out of focus) through the glass in the background. Colours tweaked in Lightroom. The phone box was already faded and vintage looing so there wasn't much work to do in this respect. :)
