Escape
While walking around Compton Acres on the weekend I saw this open gate at the top of some stairs, it didn't look like it should be open and I suddenly had an overwhelming urge to walk through it to see what was at the bottom. When I got to the bottom of the stairs I was able to take the photo of the Robin which I posted here a few days ago. While walking back up the stairs I was struck by how sinister the gate looked from the other direction, everything was slightly darker because of the overhanging leaves and I could just see light at the top of the stairs beyond the gate. I think the rope really seals it for me, it looks like somebody has managed to escape. After taking this shot I quickly made my own exit. :)
I've converted this shot to black and white and played with the gamma a little bit to try and enhance the sinister mood.
