Call me when you get there
*This is the full size version but I have also uploaded a selective crop*
I was greeted with an extremely sunny morning so I grabbed my shorts and flip-flops and headed out to try and capture a shot of this red phone box. It is really quite unusual and particularly striking as it's literally located right next to the beach when coming off of a ferry crossing. I've seen it lots of times in the past so with my new found interest in photography I just had to pay it a visit.
I actually found it quite difficult to figure out quite how to shoot it as there is a relatively new fence (I certainly don't remember it being there previously) which obscures it slightly from the best angle and from other angles you can see the road which it faces. The road also made it quite tricky to get the composition right as I had to keep running out of the way of cars coming from both directions so I'd only have five to ten seconds at a time to get a couple of shots.
I may well revisit this phone box at some point as I'm not entirely happy with the outcome and I think there is probably a better picture to be had with a little more consideration. This is the full frame but I find the fence to the bottom right a little bit distracting, so I have also taken a crop with just the top of the phone box and sand dunes and I'm going to upload that separately.
