Eoin Colfer was scheduled to sign his new Iron Man book, The Gauntlet, at the Disney booth late in the day at BEA. I moseyed over there because Eoin Colfer is THE SHILLELAGH (Irish for THE SH!T), but OH CRAZY - that line was immense.
So I gave it a pass, and as I walked by the booth I saw Eoin drinking something pink out of a plastic champagne flute. I said hi, and said, "I hope that's basically gin and grapefruit juice my friend, because you have got a LOT of books to sign."
He's like, "What? You're not going to wait in line for me?" because he is an outrageous flirt, and then he gives me one of these super swegly power bank doodads that Disney had made up for the book. The Disney publicist nearly had a heart attack as he tried to bodily block Eoin's move from the sight of the seething, hungry line that started across the aisle. You do NOT want to look like you're jumping the line at BEA. No indeedy.
