8 20 Ways to Draw a Cat by Julia Kuo
I was so psyched to meet Julia Kuo, illustrator of The Sound of Silence, Go Little Green Truck, and now this entry in Quarry's really neat series of drawing books.
These books don't do the whole 'build up from basic shapes' step by step thing, but instead literally show, in this case, animals drawn in 20 different styles, encouraging kids to experiment with their drawings and that there's no wrong way to draw.
Julia did all the art for a cool pop-up playground project spearheaded by a friend of mine in Cleveland a couple of years ago. Check out her great murals and designs at literarylots.org/
