Getting my Balance!

Verdin are only 3.5–4.3 in (9–11 cm) in length slightly larger than an Anna's Hummingbird). Here a juvenile is getting its balance on an Agave blossom. Earlier, I watched this little one being fed by its parent within the Ocotillo (see photo below.)

 

This shot was taken from our sliding glass doors using our house as a hide. The agave is about 40 feet (12 m) away, so I had to use a 2X teleconverter. As this was shot later in the day, unlike the previous post, I did not use a flash on this shot.
