Patience

I wanted a good take-off shot, so I increased my aperture to get more of the bird in focus, I increased my shutter speed to freeze the wings, and I set up my autofocus for a take off shot. Then I waited and waited and waited. (I'm talking about 1.5 to 2 hours.)

Finally this male Peregrine took off and I was rewarded for my efforts.

The background is the Pacific Ocean.
