Inverted Colors
As I walked across Navajo Bridge from the east side of the Colorado River I noticed that Old Glory was inverted above the Arizona state flag and wondered why. "Protest" jumped into my mind. Then I saw that the building was an information center and gift shop operated by one of our government agencies . . . the National Park Service. So I went inside and asked the lady in charge why the distress signal outside. She seemed puzzled but came outside with me to take a look. She said that she must have put it up wrong that morning and immediately took it down and corrected her mistake. I still wonder if it was an honest mistake or something else. I was the first of the many people around the parking lot and going in and out of the building to say anything. Are people blind or what?
