Jedi Mind Tricks - Psychosocial
I remember when Hip-Hop record stores were abundant at some point in my city, right around the time there was some wicked underground material being released from 1994-2000... I found this one at a record store called Science, and although I had never heard of Jedi Mind Tricks, the cover intrigued me, so I picked it up on a whim not sure what to expect.
Produced by Stoupe, and backed by his partner Ikon on the mic, the entire album is quite dark, talking about aliens, immaculate conception's and babylon. Sometime's Ikon's almost scream like delivery can be irritating at times, but Stoupe backups the album with some great production. Wicked stuff from start to finish, Jedi Mind brought something different to the table, and followed up with another stellar album a few years later called "Violent by Design" which I'll write about later!
