Tammy Grimes - I Really Loved Harold

For the BBT gang. Tammy Grimes is best known for her unsuccessful TV show in 1966. I liked it, but seemed nobody else did, but then, I liked 'OK Crackerby' too.

Somewhere along the way, Tammy recorded a few records. None of them charted. I acquired this record sometime in the 70's. I first played "Father O'Conner" (the plug side) and didn't like it. I flipped it over and enjoyed the eerie sounding quality of this poor girl. It reminded me of somebody I knew. She never got all the way with Tom either. I was Tom.

Many years have passed since then, and now, I find that Melanie (Brand New Key) recorded the original. It's like a completely different song, yet still shows the hurt in her heart while she's singing...and...Tom still didn't get too far.

Tammy also appeared in movies and on broadway. She was also once married to Jeremy Slate who never had a top 40 hit either, though his "Blue Skies, Green Grass" from '62 is an excellent song.
