It is easier to enter a bridge than to build one.

This is still true today. In the picture you can see an old stone bridge over a small river. I like these old arch bridges, here a double-arch stone bridge, some of which were built without mortar - at least as far as possible. The bridge is held in place solely by the pressure on the keystones. Simply impressive.
