Richter's Orchard
I finally met Danitello in person! She was kind enough to give me some books to boost my knowledge about birds. I am sorry, Dani, if we didn't stay long. Maybe we can meet again at CMB?
Tina and I met her at Richter's Orchard by Pulaski Road. I pass by that road almost everyday and I always wondered what the orchard looks like! Thanks To Dani, I finally saw it! Wow, those rows of apple trees! That rusted tractor by the wooden fence! It was a very overcast day with dramatic clouds overhead and it was getting dark but I couldn't help myself not to snap a few pictures.
The resulting shot looked lifeless due to the extreme overcast and when I increased the brightness, the sky got blown out! I needed to maintain that sky and falling light to express the scene I saw at that moment. This split toned image is the only way I was able to express what I saw.
Before we left, we heard a hawk screech and saw it soar in the distance, leaving a smile on our faces.
