2013: A Year in Pictures

I've never actually done this before, but it's always been interesting looking at other people's, and anyway I was tagged by Lulemee (thanks for that).

This has been a pretty awesome year on Flickr, although at times I've worried it's been about to take over my life! Certainly one photo has taken over the categories, I'm afraid, as I'll explain:

1. This picture, a before and after of my original Disney Store Flynn Rider resculpt/repaint, did a sweep in all categories; I gather it did the rounds on tumblr, and as a result is judged by Flickr not only to have received the most views, comments and favourites, but also as being the most interesting image in my photostream! As some of you may have noticed, in the last couple of days I finally uploaded the tutorial on how to do this resculpt, so hopefully next year Flickr will be flooded with an army of modded Flynns.

Since Flynn/Eugene swept the boards, to add a little variety, I've gone with the second in each category for the rest:

2. The second most interesting image on my photostream this year, apparently, is this before and after of Mattel's fashionista Ryan. I really like the potential in this face sculpt, and have hoarded several more heads since, as I'm worried that they're going to disappear once the horrible new moulded hair boys come in.

3. Second most favourites went to my first ever attempt at repainting/resculpting - a mod of the Disney Store 'Tangled Ever After' Rapunzel. As some of you are probably aware, she was the start of a rash of modded Rapunzels over the course of the year. I've still not achieved the perfect Rapunzel yet.

4. (Second) most comments - this was actually a tie, but this one had fewer that were replies by me. This is my 1:12 scale Chuck Bartowski; still hoping, at some point, to get the Nerd Herd desk project done.

5. Personal favourite - these are actually my first ever Rapunzel and Eugene dolls, and the ones I'm most proud of since I sculpted them from scratch. They're 1:12 scale figures made from polymer clay with full fabric costumes; Rapunzel's is the most complex I've ever made. They and Pascal live in a diorama of Rapunzel's tower I made in a chocolate box.

Thanks for a great year folks. Happy New Year, all, and looking forward to 2014.
