Joest Momo Porsche 962 '92-93
Chassis 011 (and the sister 016) were amongst the last of the factory-built 962 chassis. Joest took these cars and completed extensive development on aerodynamics, trimming the bodywork down to the then-contemporary short-tail feeding a remote twin-tier wing. To further clean up flow to the wing, the top-side cooling exits ahead of the rear wheels were moved to exiting out the sides, just above the turbochargers and exhausts. The 962's typical blunt rounded nose underwing profile was replaced with a full-width splitter and lower, deeper upper surface.
These cars ran in various liveries, eventually just a pure, clean, white car as sponsorship ran dry toward the end of the Group C and GTP era. The red here is for earlier days of ‘92 with the colorful, legendary MOMO car.
