Friendship: Make Your Own Happiness

Resubmitting. I made this card for a friend of mine who is going through a painful divorce. Just wanted to let her know I'm here if she wants or needs anything.

The use of sponged dye inks to make a background was inspired by my friend Suzanne's (stampersuzz's) Birthday Card. She did such an excellent job with the technique that she made it look easy! Her sponged inks are soft and transition smoothly. I just had to try it!

I made the backgrounds for the stamped images and sentiment using white cardstock and dye inks. I used Broken China Distress Ink and New Sprout Memento dye ink. I sponged the inks onto the white cardstock using a sponge pouncer from the stenciling section of my big box craft store.

On top of that I stamped Hero Arts' H4039 Stitched Rectangles using VersaFine Vintage Sepia ink. Then I stamped Inkadinkado's 97163 Flourished Fall Tree inside of the triple stitched rectangles. Then I trimmed the cardstock and mounted it onto dark brown cardstock.

For the sentiment, I used Hero Arts' CL129 Anytime Messages. I used a corner rounder and edged the piece with VersaFine Vintage Sepia ink. I punched two holes using a 1/8" punch and tied a piece of green ribbon through it.

Finally, I assembled the card. To finish it off, I used Hero Arts' CH130 Citron Gemstones.

Thanks for looking!
