(14) Jarrell Martin pf / 6'9'' 220 / Banton Rouge, LA / LSU

Strengths: He's one of those lengthy small forward prospects. Has the athletic ability to go get it off the glass, will even make tips at the rim. His perimeter game is of the catch and shoot variety. Let's call him what he is: a guy with a significant upside, the kind that you want to believe in.

Weaknesses: He didn't play his first two years of high school so there isn't a resume at all. He'll start from scratch and play his first high school ball at Madison Prep in Baton Rouge in 2011-12. His lack of experience outside of AAU makes the evaluation very difficult. He wants to play up and down so getting used to playing at a slower, more collegiate pace will be something to overcome.

Bottom Line: This is a prospect. He has all the physical markers and his athleticism is outstanding. Determining what kind of player he is - competitive, instinctive, winner - will go a long way in the evaluation. He's a talent, and one will have to watch closely.
